The Tech Center in Numazu/Japan benefits from its easy-to-access location at the foot of Mount Fuji, halfway between Tokyo and Osaka. This Tech Center mainly focuses on two kinds of technical developments: rotary electromagnetic equipment (e.g. small motors for the automotive business or generators for motorcycles), as well as hardware and embedded software for electric appliances. Numazu offers the infrastructure for tests mounted on vehicles as well as test benches for all parts with its EMC Anechoic chamber, a temperature chamber which performs up to -40 degree Celsius with enough space for a small vehicle, and a 150kW chassis dynamo specialized in motorcycle and ATV. By adopting model base development methods and utilizing HiL-simulation for hardware and embedded software development, the development and verification periods are shortened significantly. Currently there are 119 engineers working in Numazu.
