MAHLE Powertrain operates a comprehensive and flexible Supply Chain Management strategy, underpinned by SAP, to ensure that we, and our sub-contractors and suppliers, deliver components and services to the correct specification, on time and to budget.
Suppliers are continuously assessed to ensure that they meet the required standards of quality, cost, delivery and environmental performance. Additionally, where possible, appropriate synergies are developed between plants, utilizing common systems, tools and processes to assist the flow of valuable information from the first prototype stage all the way through to series production.
Effective systems are in place to ensure the smooth flow of materials from the supply source to the manufacturing facility and ultimately to the end consumer without disruption or delay. Integrated supply and stock control systems, including MRP, MPS, Kanban and EDI, are utilized to ensure that materials, WIP and finished stock are maintained at cost effective levels throughout the business.
Our objective is always to ensure that the project team and our Supply Chain Management processes work together seamlessly and our focus is maintained on delivering the finished product exactly to the customer's specification, within budget and on schedule.
