The competence in the area of valve seat insert materials paves the way for MAHLE into the rapidly growing market segment of exhaust turbocharger parts.

MAHLE has developed special materials for this which feel at home in the high temperatures typically present in exhaust turbochargers. These materials are characterized by unique capabilities in respect to oxidation and wear resistance as well as creep resistance, whereby cost aspects are also taken into consideration.

On a large scale, these materials are used in turbochargers as a vane bearing ring, bearing sleeve, or radial shaft sealing ring.

Increasingly stronger materials are continuously being developed for the ever rising requirements. In this way, application-specific materials result from the two production technologies, casting, and powder metallurgy.
